This group cable car brings you to the Zwölferkopf, high above the village of Pertisau. This is the perfect starting place for challenging mountain tours in the Karwendel mountain range or leisurely hikes around the summit. Our tip is the circular panorama tour complete with Alpine wildlife. A stop at the Karwendel Alpine Inn is worthwhile. The cable car also transports bikes, buggies, wheelchairs and dogs. As a guest of the Hotel Pfandler, you will get special deals for mountain and valley trips.

On the Rofan Cable Car, you will float at 1,800 metres right into the Rofan hiking region. The mountain station is an excellent starting place for hikes of all levels of difficulty, as well as hikes in the “Climber’s Paradise” with its 5-summit via ferrata.

A boat trip on Tyrol’s largest lake is always an experience. Today, the modern MS Tirol and Stadt Innsbruck ships operate the entire summer long. The whole cruise takes about 2 hours and there are two opportunities to get off the boat during the cruise.

The Tratzberg Castle, a Renaissance jewel among Austria’s castles, was first mentioned in writing in the 13th century and served as the former border fortress against the Bavarians and the hunting lodge of Emperor Maximilian I. In 1847, the castle was passed over to the Counts of Enzenberg who still use it as a private residence.

In 1180, today’s old town was created through a barter agreement between Margrave Berchtold V of Andechs and the Wilten Monastery. Here you can find the emblem of Innsbruck, the Golden Roof, and other sights such as the Hofburg imperial palace and Hofkirche (“court church”). The city tower is the highest observation deck in Innsbruck.

Innsbruck’s Hofkirche with the cenotaph of Emperor Maximilian I is Tyrol’s most significant monument and the most magnificent emperor tomb in Europe.

The Armoury is the home of Tyrol’s cultural history. Take a chronological tour through the region’s history. The emperors’ famous and feared artillery is housed on the open ground floor, the entire collection of military equipment is located on the upper floor.

Newly constructed in 2001, the Bergisel Olympic ski jump and the international Four Hills Tournament ski jumping event have made the Bergisel a prime athletic and tourist attraction.

Nowhere else is the border between urban space and the mountains so close: with the new Nordkettenbahn Cable Railways, it takes just 20 minutes to go from the Innsbruck city centre to the high-alpine terrain at 2,256 metres.

The Alpenzoo opened in 1962 and at an altitude of 750 m is the highest zoo in Europe. More than 2,000 animals representing 150 species invite you to an eventful visit to the Alps’ animal kingdom.

At this manufacturer in Kufstein, glass makers produce mouth-blown, hand-made world-famous Riedel glass with great care and precision. Claus Riedel is the founder of the functional wine glass.

Kitzbühel is a city in northeast Tyrol and home to 8,211 inhabitants. The city is known for being one of Austria’s most important winter sports locations. The famous Hahnenkamm Race draws up to 100,000 spectators each year. Since 2007, the triathlon world cup has been held at Schwarzsee.

The Krimml Waterfalls with their impressive fall of 380 metres are the fifth-highest waterfall in the world. For more than 100 years, the 4 km-long waterfall trail has lead nature-lovers to the Krimml Waterfalls, a true natural spectacle.

Rottach-Egern is located in the Tegernsee Valley and the western part of Egern is directly on the southern shore of the Tegernsee Lake. The St Laurentius church, the Resurrection Church and the spa park are some of the most recognisable emblems of Rottach-Egern.

The Tegernsee Bavarian brewhouse is the successor of a brewery founded in 1050 where, in the year 746, the Tegernsee Benedictine Monastery was founded.

Today, the Andechs Monastery is a Benedictine priory in Andechs in Bavaria in the Augsburg diocese. Decorated by Johann Baptist Zimmermann in the rococo style, the Andechs abbey church is today a significant pilgrimage church. The Andechs “Holy Mountain” is the oldest and, after Altötting, the second-largest pilgrimage site in Bavaria.

This monastery is a former Benedictine abbey and is today a branch of the Salesians of Don Bosco. The monastery was founded in 725/728. Additionally, Frauenhofer’s historic glass factory is set up as a museum in the monastery where visitors can see this glass maker’s furnaces, optical equipment and technology.

Drive along the German Alpine Route from the Sylvenstein Dam over Vorderriss to Krün. Our tip: continue driving through Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Ehrwald and take the Tyrolean Zugspitze Railway to the peak of Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze.

The Tatzelwurm Road begins just south of Brannenburg near the valley station of the Wendelstein Rack Railway. It proceeds southbound at an incline of up to 18% over a nameless pass summit, commonly called the “Tatzelwurmpass” in the vernacular.
